Dual-screen Ubuntu-based tablet 'Kno'

The Ubuntu and Webkit based Tablet from kno is targeting the e-learning industry. Its available in 14.1" dual and single touch screens. Its built on Nvidia Tegra 2 graphics chip and has a storage capacity of 16 GB. Unlike Ipad it supports both HTML5 and Adobe Flash 10.1. It has a variety of built-in applications such as Internet, email, ebooks, calculator, etc. It can be used just like a notebook as the user can write anywhere on the screen and save their work.Kno has reported that McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & SonsPearson, and Cengage Learning will be making their textbooks available for the Company's beta program.

How to install xbmc in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkut

First add xbmc repository to the software sources. You can do this typing the following line into the terminal


sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc


Then goto Applications->Ubuntu Software Centre->Edit->Software Sources->Other Software and select the PPA of xbmc






Then change the Distribution to lucid





Then go to terminal and type


sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install xbmc xbmc-standalone

Real 3D anaglyph in Linux with compiz plug-in




Stuff required:
1.Red-blue 3D glasses
2.Compiz-anaglyph plug-in Download

Follow these steps:

$ sudo apt-get install compiz-fusion-bcop compiz-dev compizconfig-settings-manager build-essential libtool libglu1-mesa-dev libxss-dev libcairo2-dev libpango1.0-dev git-core

#copy the plug-in downloaded to your home folder and then
$ tar -xvzf Anaglyph_by_11e097.gz

$ cd anaglyph/

$ make && make install

Open Compizconfig Settings Manager, look for Anaglyph plugin and check the box
Use F12 to make it work.
